Hinduism : On the Esala full moon, the Kandy Esala Perahera takes place. The most important and spectacular festival in SL, it is the climax of 10 days and nights of increasing frenetic activity in Kandy. Thousands of dancers, drummers, and temple chieftains take part in the parade that also features 50 or more magnificently decorated elephants honouring the Sacred Tooth relic of the Golden Temple. Smaller peraheras are held at this time at other locations in the island.

Hinduism : Goddess Mahakali is worshiped. Bonalu is an annual festival of Telangana celebrated in Twin Cities Hyderabad, Secunderabad and other parts of Telangana, India. It is celebrated in the month of Ashada Masam, in July/August. Special poojas are performed for Yellamma on the first and last day of the festival. The festival is also considered a thanksgiving to the Goddess for fulfillment of vows.

Hinduism : The celebration occurs two weeks after the Kharchi Puja to honor Ker, the guardian deity of Vastu Devata. It includes offerings, sacrifices, and a prescribed boundary which both safeguards people from calamities and saves people from external aggression. The puja was initiated by the Tripura rajas. Participation in the puja is required for the Halam tribe. He drew his lineage from the Syiemlieh clan.He was Syiem (chief)of Nongkhlaw, part of the Khasi Hills. Women, married and unmarried, mainly of Khas ethnicity, assemble at one place, in their finest attire and start dancing and singing devotional songs. Amidst all this, the grand feast takes place. The word raksha signifies protection, and bandhan is an association signifying an enduring sort of bond; and so, when a woman ties a rakhi around the waist of her brother, she signifies her loving attachment to him. He, likewise, recognizes the special bonds between them, and by extending his wrist forward, he in fact extends the hand of his protection over her.

Hinduism : Jhulan Purnima: All devotees wait patiently in a queue to swing Their Lordships. The swing (jhulana) beautified with splendid flower decorations, colorful beads, etc. A special flower rope is used to pull the swing. An arotik is performed after Sri Sri Radha Madhava are seated on the swing, and devotees bring a variety of bhoga to please Their Lordships. Kirtana and bhajans go on for almost two hours, and many visitors join in to pull Their Lordship's swing.

Hinduism : Baba Sri Chand (8 September 1494 – 13 January 1629), was the founder of the ascetic sect of Udasi and was the elder son of Guru Nanak, first Guru and founder of Sikhism. He was born to Mata Sulakhani on Bhadra sudi 9, 1551 Bikrami (i.e. 8 September 1494) ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਉਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਲਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਪੀਰਹੁ ਕੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੁਰਟੀਐ॥ His sons did not obey His Word; they turned their backs on Him as Guru. ਦਿਲਿ ਖੋਟੈ ਆਕੀ ਫਿਰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਚਾਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਛਟੀਐ॥ These evil-hearted ones became rebellious; they carry loads of sin on their backs Some organizations, like Gobind Sadan, Damdami Taksal, a few Nihangs, and even a few Jathedars of takhat, admire Sri Chand Ji for his contribution. Sri Chand Ji is said to have composed an Aarta – a poem in name of his father, Nanak. After having differences with many subsequent Sikh gurus, Guru Angad, Guru Amar Das Guru Ram Das and Guru Arjan, however there was reconciliation between Sri Chand and sixth Sikh Guru Guru Hargobind. Hinduism : Observed by the Jat community on the 10th day of the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Bhadrapad month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in North India, dedicated to a local deity named Tejaji. The popular belief is that Tejaji used to rescue people from snake bites. He is worshipped by people to escape from deadly snake bites. People also pray to the deity for the speedy recovery of people who had been bitten by poisonous snakes. Fairs are held in temple towns that have temples dedicated to Tejaji.
